Demi Lovato clarifies criticism for Taylor Swift

“I’m just exhausted of seeing women use “women empowerment” and “feminism” to further brands without actually being the ones that have the uncomfortable conversations”, she said.

‘Women empowerment is speaking up for other women even when it’s something uncomfortable to speak up about’.

One Instagram user, @proudofswift (who had 55 followers at the time, and has now made her account private), suggested that Lovato was taking the focus away from Kesha by making this a story about herself and her new feud with Swift.

Demi Lovato says women being shut down and not believed after speaking out happens “way too often” and that she’s “ready for women to be taken just as seriously as men”.

She then went on a rundown of what women’s empowerment really means, and her desire to see prominent women and self-proclaimed feminists “using your voice to help the voiceless women be heard”. During the Twitter rant Lovato also criticized Taylor Swift after Swift donated $250,000 in the wake of Kesha’s ongoing legal battle. “I just give more f-ks than other people and would rather start a dialogue ABOUT WOMEN COMING FORWARD ABOUT BEING RAPED than throw money at one person”, she raged.

Demi Lovato spoke out against Taylor Swift’s donation to Kesha. The judge said that Sony records would undergo “harm” if she breaks the contract and therefore she needs to make six more albums while under it. The “Tik Tok” singer was inconsolable and broke down in tears when the ruling was made.

Throughout the entire ordeal, Dr. Luke has vehemently denied all the allegations – which also include that the 42-year-old has verbally and emotionally abused Kesha.

If some of her messages seem to have the whiff of the subtweet about them, you wouldn’t be the only one to think so. If you take it that way than fine.
