The Snapchat scandal comes in contrast to Lovato’s usually socially-conscious demeanor, as she spoke about mental health in Philadelphia at the Democratic National Convention in July.
After hours of tweets with the hashtag #DemiLovatoIsOverParty continued to roll in, Lovato chose to defend herself.
“In no way did I mean to offend anyone last night”, she wrote on Saturday.
The “Cool for the Summer” singer, who is now on tour with Nick Jonas, added that if people are watching her every move, they must care.
