Democratic leader calls FBI director’s letter a ‘foul deed’
Rep. Seth Moulton, D-Mass., who led a push to hold off the reappointment of California Rep. Nancy Pelosi as the top Democrat in the House of Representatives, stopped short of calling for a new minority leader but is leaving the door open to change.

More than two dozen House Democrats wrote Pelosi this week asking her to delay the elections, saying it is “vital that our caucus take the time to listen to the American people and learn the lessons of this hard election”.
Rep. Brendan Boyle, D-Pa., insisted the decision to delay the vote on Leader Pelosi was simply to take extra time to “talk about where we go as a party”.
Mrs. Pelosi is looking to head off a rebellion within the House Democratic caucus amid rumblings from rank-and-file members that it is time for her to be replaced with someone who is more in tune with working-class voters in the Rust Belt and Midwest who have abandoned the party.
Congressman Joe Crowley a leader of the Democrats in the House of Representatives?
“What’s going on in the Congress today is, to borrow a phrase, unAmerican”, said House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi (Calif.) on Friday, adding that the committee is acting in ways “not seen on Capitol Hill since the days of Joseph McCarthy”.
“I know how to do it”, she said.
An outcry from about 25 members persuaded House Democratic leaders two postpone the elections for the party’s top jobs in the chamber from Thursday until November 30. Michigan Rep. Debbie Dingell, who complained in an op-ed last week that she warned Democrats Hillary Clinton was in trouble in her state, to no effect, was one of the women who signed the letter backing Pelosi. She’s got more energy than probably half of our Democratic caucus and is a terrific fundraiser, and I don’t blame her for the past election.
Ryan further said, “How do you get your rear end kicked like we got our rear end kicked, and not even have a conversation about it?”
Crowley is unlikely to accept the call to challenge Pelosi, according to inside sources. They’re an incredibly marginalized party throughout America after last Tuesday.
Pelosi “tweeted”, “It is with humility that I announce my candidacy for Democrat leader”.
Pelosi’s tenure as the top Democrat in the House has been less than spectacular.
But Republicans regained the majority in the House four years later and have held it ever since.
“Who is the leader who can go into those Southern states?”
Simultaneously, she indicated she’s already secured enough support to win a leadership vote — a clear message to any would-be challengers that efforts to topple her will likely prove futile.
The Democrat also sketched out his vision for the kind of messaging he believes Democrats should adopt, stressing the importance of speaking to the kinds of working-class voters who carried Trump to the White House. This is the first hint that any elected Democrats are willing to blame something other than bad luck and racism on the shellacking they got last week.

Democrats faltered in this year’s campaign, she said, because “the problem was more with the communication than it was with our policy”. “But clearly we need a serious discussion and perhaps a different leadership, or maybe not”, he said.
