Debbie Wasserman Schultz, long under fire for the appearance of partiality toward Hillary Clinton in the Democratic presidential primaries, will step down as party chair at the end of its convention this week, she announced Sunday.

Meanwhile, Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump wasted no time in taking the DNC and Hillary Clinton to task. Clinton indicated in her statement that she will try to help Wasserman Schultz fend off the challenge in Congressional District 23.

Controversial Democratic National Committee chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz has announced that she will step down from her position at the end of the Democratic National Convention next week.

“She was never going to be the permanent chairman of the convention”, Frank told the Washington Post that the “The national chair is never the permanent chair of the convention”.

In the emails, staffers considered ways to hurt Sanders at the polls.

U.S. Rep. Debbie Dingell, D-Dearborn, one of those at a reception for state delegates hosted by Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan and Wayne County Executive Warren Evans at a Philadelphia restaurant on Sunday, confirmed that Granholm is in the mix for the job along with U.S. Rep. Steve Israel of NY, a former chairman of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, and Stephanie Schriock, president of Emily’s List, which works to elect women to public office. Brad Marshall, the DNC’s chief financial officer, apologized on Facebook on Saturday for an email in which he discussed how some voters in upcoming nominating contests in Kentucky and West Virginia would reject an atheist. “Does he believe in God”.

“This could make several points difference with my peeps”.

Amy Dacey, CEO of the DNC, subsequently responded “AMEN”, according to the emails. “So what I suggested to be true six months ago turned out to be true”.

Asked if the move will bring unity to the party, Buckley told NH1 News “I think there were a lot of people who were arriving today that were very upset and this really allows us all to get together, be united, and support the Clinton-Kaine ticket”. “He says we’ve got to defeat Trump”, said Lawrence Hamm, a Sanders delegate from Montclair, New Jersey.

“Our campaign was about revitalizing American democracy”.

But Sanders repeatedly voiced frustration with a DNC and party establishment he felt was stacked against him, and the resentment from Sanders and his supporters threatened to disrupt the convention. (Breaking into tears during a TV interview, she backed the plan.) In past years, Wasserman Schultz has proved an effective surrogate for presidential candidates both to the Jewish community and on women’s issues. Wasserman Schultz’s seat in Congress is up for re-election in November. “I’m in Cleveland if you need another chair to help keep your convention in order”, she tweeted.

She faces an August 30 primary-election challenge for her congressional seat from Tim Canova, who has been backed by Sanders.

“There’s evidence Russian state actors broke into the DNC, stole those emails, and there are experts saying they are releasing these emails for the goal of helping Donald Trump”, Mook told CNN’s Jake Tapper in an interview that aired Sunday on “State of the Union”.

Sanders, who has endorsed Clinton and will speak on her behalf to the convention on Monday, said he would have preferred she pick U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren of MA, a favorite of the party’s liberal wing, as her No. 2.

Mook said the idea that Russian Federation leaked Democrats’ emails to possibly help Trump was “disturbing”.
