While such a candid statement may have been unthinkable a few months ago, the Sanders campaign’s has repeatedly targeted of the DNC chair, accusing Wasserman Schultz of favoring Hillary Clinton throughout the primary season.
“Yeah, she’s been in the tank for Hillary, and I think what’s surprising about what I found out … is that this talk that she needs to step down isn’t coming from Sanders supporters”, Bolton said. Beyond politics, I think it became very personal for her and you know she has lashed out at the campaign, as I said on a number of occasions, these joint fundraising agreements which took money from state parties and gave it to the DNC.
The Bernie Sanders campaign has been warring with Wasserman Schultz, the Democratic National Committee chair.
Analysts say Trump’s surge in political polls stems from Republican voters coalescing behind his candidacy, after many of them supported one of his rivals in state-by-state nominating contests before Trump defeated them. Bee played voicemails left for Nevada Democratic Chairwoman Roberta Lange by Sanders supporters, some involving threats of violence. Especially when Bernie Sanders himself is saying just that. “The context of that was democracy is messy”, he said.
The Democrats close to Obama and Clinton both acknowledged that removing Wasserman Schultz would be “messy” and “wouldn’t happen easily”, but it could certainly be done. The Democratic National Committee has agreed to allow Sanders greater representation on the convention platform committee. They also feel the move may help them in their quest to keep the Sanders votes in their camp in the general election.
The fears that Schultz is polarising the DNC is now starting to get increasingly vocal inside the DNC.
“This is like someone who comes to your house, says they don’t like the food, your TV is too small and I’m not particularly thrilled with what your kitchen looks like and then walks out complaining”, said Nutter, now a CNN contributor.
Reece, the chair of the Ohio Legislative Black Caucus, said she personally is looking to push for voting rights, criminal justice, and economic issues.
The lawmaker said about a dozen lawmaker participated in the discussions about the topic.
A senior Senate Democratic told the paper, ‘There’s a strong sentiment that the current situation is untenable and can only be fixed by her leaving.
