Democrats Make History by Officially Nominating Hillary Clinton

That’s despite Sanders’ 22-point victory in in the state in February.

Small protests popped up around downtown Philadelphia on Wednesday and no marches were planned, making for quieter streets on Day 3 of the Democratic convention.

The former first lady, NY senator and secretary of state was formally installed as the party nominee at the Democratic convention in Philadelphia, to take on Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump, CNN reported.

By Bill’s telling, Hillary, self-possessed in her early 20s, introduced herself to him at Yale Law School. “It’s fine to stand on principle, but also politics is the art of the possible and I would hope they would understand the seriousness of this campaign”. Sanders, by contrast, insisted on retaining all his delegates through the vote, and only moved to have Clinton nominated by acclamation after all the states had announced their tallies, a move that underlined the fact that more than 40 percent of the delegates in the room were Sanders supporters.

“I want to bring before this convention the names of our parents: Eli Sanders, Dorothy Glassberg Sanders”. Tim Kaine, Hillary Clinton’s running mate.

Two groups of Bernie Sanders supporters were slowly gathering at a plaza near City Hall for daylong rallies and speeches. Still, those most threatened by Trump’s neo-fascism – people of color, queer people, the poor, workers and those who care about economic inequality – have been abandoned by the Democratic party and its nominee on economic justice.

His address attempted to counter his wife’s main political vulnerabilities, from being seen as untrustworthy by large swaths of the American public to a perception that she’s too close to the established political system to meaningfully change it.

“He knows we’ll have to work through this”, Weaver told The Times of Israel on Tuesday.

“Stronger together”, she said in another tweet.

First Lady Michelle Obama is also throwing her support behind Clinton, recognising her political struggle for equality.

“The cornerstone of his campaign is not economics”, Sanders added.

Do you think the so-called Bernie or Busters are being unrealistic by saying they’ll sit out the election? And I believe he was a pretty good president, although much of the good stuff from those years is seriously undermined by his personal failings, which included some staggering shortcomings in the category of faithful husband. Democracy and the Supreme Court are at stake.

“Elect her because she’ll never quit when the going gets tough”, he said.

“We’ve built up a lifetime of memories”, he said.

Has that made it harder for you to move on?

“Russia, if you’re listening, I hope you’re able to find the 30,000 emails that are missing”, Trump said. It was a very symbolic gesture; however I think a couple of things have to happen before we achieve unity.

Bernie Sanders started a revolution. “None of us have to do that ever again, we never have to be the first again”. We have a lot to do to rebuild the credibility of the DNC. Seating areas in the hall for several delegations from states carried by Sanders, including Alaska, Kansas, Maine, and Oklahoma were almost empty for much of the night. It’s important that we as officers remain neutral. The night wasn’t without conflict, but the event set a few historic firsts. She just laughed and said, ‘Are you out of your mind?

We had the most remarkable speech last night from President Clinton.

Bill Clinton says his wife and Democratic candidate Hillary is the “best change-maker he has ever met”.
