“We have to be willing to give a little in order for our country to gain a whole lot”, Trump said.

The legislators got a pep talk from President Donald Trump reliving passage of the tax bill and highlighting other GOP victories from his first year in office. And he offered no new policy details on infrastructure, prescription drug prices or other items he’s mentioned as ripe for attention in 2018.
Trump said to legislators that both republicans and democrats would have to make a compromise along the way for both parties to have the result that was not necessarily ideal but good for both sides of the political divide. Steele didn’t begin work on the project until after Democratic groups took over the funding.
On Thursday morning, he returned to his favorite social media platform with three tweets.
“You know the Democrats are AWOL”. And 75 percent of its 46 million viewers said they liked it, too, according to the polls. “We’re saying, ‘Where are they?’ We have a proposal”. “What we need to do is be responsible adults and realize we’re not going to get everything we want, and carve a pathway forward”. At one point, as Trump was expressing his happiness for the new tax bill, he referenced the owners of Dayton-based Staub Manufacturing, who were guests for the evening.
Shuster said public-private partnerships such as those used by CT at highway rest stops could be an alternative.
Q: Where is Trump’s plan going on Capitol Hill?
It alleges that law enforcement authorities obtained court approval to monitor the communications of a senior Trump campaign official, and the warrant request was based on information provided by a research firm linked to the Democratic Party.
Republicans have since said they’d vote to release the Democratic memo, drafted by ranking member Adam Schiff of California – a sign that the committee is likely to approve its release.
“Devin Nunes, over the past several months, all the way back to the spring of previous year, I think, has engaged in these tactics, purely to defend, make excuses and try to protect Mr. Trump”, Brennan said.
Trump’s tone during the speech alternated between off-the-cuff riffing about how great of a year it had been ― complete with shoutouts to random lawmakers ― to a prepared speech that made the case for a tougher line on immigration negotiations. Meanwhile Congress faces a February 8 deadline to avert another government shutdown.
Democrats voted to allow the government to reopen with another temporary funding measure after assurances from Republican Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell that he would put an immigration bill up for debate.
Tweeting from his resort in Palm Beach, Florida on Saturday, Trump said the Republican memo “totally vindicates” him in the Russian Federation investigation and called Mueller’s probe a “disgrace”. “There’s no education in the second kick of a mule”, the Kentucky lawmaker said.
The Gang of Six offer included almost $3 billion for Trump’s wall and border technology, ended the diversity lottery but used those visas with a higher bar for underrepresented countries and recipients of temporary protected status, and addressed “chain migration”, or family migration, by blocking parents of DACA recipients who came here illegally from ever being citizens.
House Judiciary Chairman Bob Goodlatte touted his own bill in scrums, a bill that many have acknowledged would be dead on arrival in the Senate.
But some hardline members of the Senate and House of Representatives have said they would go along with this if it is linked to the other measures proposed by Trump, particularly an end to the visa lottery system for certain countries, and new limits on the type of family members immigrants can sponsor to move to the United States. The memo accuses the Federal Bureau of Investigation of improperly using information paid for in part by Hillary Clinton’s campaign to obtain a FISA warrant for Trump campaign foreign policy adviser Carter Page.

While the president said he supports legal status for the immigrants, he wants to close off sponsorship of immigrant parents and siblings by all United States citizens, a bedrock of immigration policy that Democrats want to maintain. She’s from a blue state with the largest number of dreamers – more than 200,000 – and is seen as a possible presidential candidate in 2020. I think they want to obstruct.
