In a pleasant change from abuse being hurled from the stands, ADO Den Haag fans threw cuddly toys down onto Feyenoord supporters in the tier below them during their Eredivisie clash between the sides over the weekend.

Home supporters turned to applaud ADO Den Haag’s travelling support as they threw the toys towards the children.

THERE is usually little love lost between fans in the Netherlands’ Eredivisie.

Before the game ADO fans spread the word that they would be seated directly above the group of children at De Kuip and encouraged each other to bring gifts to the match. “So no beads and buttons, children from the Sophia Children’s Hospital will be under us in the away end”.

It was an important league game for Feyenoord as they looked to maintain their 100% record, but Den Haag supporters had a kind gesture for their opponents.

“Our mailbox is filled with compliments and thank you for fans of ADO Den Haag”.

The post was accompanied by the hashtag #YNWA, an abbreviation for You’ll Never Walk Alone.

Why? Their projectiles were teddy bears.
