United Airlines website says crew members found the message on the flight that left Anchorage, Alaska at 11:39 p.m. Friday night. A spokesman for the RCMP, Corporal Dennis Hwang, didn’t immediately return a voicemail message seeking comment on Saturday.
Midway through the flight the crew elected to turn back to Vancouver after finding the message, according to United spokesman Charlie Hobart.
The nature of the threat has not been released. Hobart said they are cooperating with authorities and “will work to rebook our customers on alternate flights”.

Airline and airport officials would not immediately say what the problem was, but the incident came as the United States and Canada are on heightened alert for terror attacks.
