Dallas is certainly in need of help under center after losing he veteran Tony Romo for 6-10 weeks due to a broken back injury.

Meanwhile, the Vikings gave up a first and fourth-round draft pick to trade for Sam Bradford, who they will also have to pay upwards of $24 million through 2017 (the Eagles are on the hook for Bradford’s $11 million signing bonus).

Most significant move: The Broncos traded for Mark Sanchez less than 12 hours after Brock Osweiler was introduced as the Houston Texans’ new quarterback, and Sanchez arrived in Denver with the hope of being the starting quarterback – he called it “an opportunity of a lifetime”.

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (AP) – Mark Sanchez, Denver’s biggest offseason acquisition, didn’t make the roster, saving the Broncos $3.5 million and a seventh-round draft pick.

QB Paxton Lynch will start and play the entire game Thursday.

“We thought we were more reasonable, especially given the cut he accepted a year ago, ” said Paul Sheehy, Colquitt’s Littleton-based agent. Sometimes, however, money gets in the way and decisions are made based as much on payroll as performance. He continues to make great plays because of his ability.

Last week Sanchez said he was disappointed by the outcome of the quarterback competition, but hoped to stay in Denver.

“I just want to see him consistently improve”.

“That is kind of what I prepared myself for this off-season, just games like this, knowing what kind of running back I am”, Penny said. “I’ve gotten to know these guys and embrace this community”. Sanchez didn’t even play in the third or fourth preseason games.

Denver Broncos coach Gary Kubiak watches during the second half of the team’s NFL preseason football game against the Arizona Cardinals, Thursday, Sept. 1, 2016, in Glendale, Ariz.
