Denver Broncos Sign Von Miller To Record Deal For A Defender
TheDenver Broncos recently made one of the biggest moves in team history on Friday, signing outside linebacker Von Miller to a six year, $114.5 million contract through the 2021 season.

That’s nearly double the guaranteed money the Broncos were offering him in June. [Pat] Bowlen, Joe Ellis, John Elway and Coach [Gary] Kubiak for making this possible.
“I don’t want to ever say I’m giving up, because that’s never going to be me”, Rice said before playing in Boomer Esiason and Craig Carton’s charity softball game. The agreement concludes a protracted negotiating period that got contentious at times and included some doubts about Miller’s future in Denver.
The contract not only is great for Miller and his agent, Joby Branion, but also for a sizable group of defensive players due new deals in coming years.
The deal, which ended the sometimes testy negotiations of the past five months, got done when the Broncos significantly pumped up the guaranteed money from an offer that Miller and his representatives turned down in June.
Miller predicted peaceful contract negotiations 12 hours after spearheading Denver’s 24-10 win over Carolina in the Super Bowl when his two sack-strips of Cam Newton led to both of Denver’s touchdowns.
Miller, the reigning Super Bowl MVP, tweeted a photo of himself in a Broncos jersey with the caption “FOR LIFE”.
Miller’s guaranteed money is eclipsed by only that of Indianapolis quarterback Andrew Luck, who will receive $US75 million ($A98 million) in guarantees in his $US140 million ($A183 million) contract extension.
After seeing defensive contemporaries such as Vernon pocket mega-money deals, Miller, who is one of the NFL’s premier players – was entitled to feel that he deserved more.
“It has been a challenging 18 months and I have made the hard decision to no longer proceed with the legal process”, the New England Patriots quarterback said in a Facebook post. Brady’s only remaining hope to take the field when the Patriots open the season against Arizona on September 11 had been a stay from the nation’s highest court, which accepts about 1 percent of the appeals submitted.
BILLS: Running back Karlos Williams was suspended for the first four games of the season for a drug offense.
Lynch, 23, will be eligible to return to the 49ers roster on October 3, following the team’s October 2 game against the Dallas Cowboys.
The Washington Redskins didn’t sign QB Kirk Cousins, the team’s franchise tag recipient, to a long-term deal. His 66.5 career sacks (reg. season and playoffs) rank second in the NFL since his first year in 2011 and are the sixth most in league history through a player’s first five years. If the contract had not come to light and had been agreed on, Miller’s only options were to play under the salary and rules of a franchise-tagged player or sit out for the entire 2016 National Football League season.

The Los Angeles Rams and Johnson also couldn’t close on a deal Friday, meaning the cornerback will under play his tag value, $14 million.
