Brock Osweiler is preparing for his second consecutive start for the Denver Broncos and Peyton Manning is seeking a second opinion on his injured left foot. The veteran quarterback visited a foot specialist for the diagnosis and it was decided he will wear a walking boot for at least one week. Manning will attend meetings and perform light workouts with the team, according to coach Gary Kubiak.

“Probably 70 percent of our plays were in at least two-tight-end sets and we had some three-tight-ends out there”, Broncos tight end Owen Daniels said, via ESPN. “We’ll continue to support Peyton as he does everything to get healthy”. He has 17 interceptions to go with only nine touchdown passes and was benched last week during a game against Kansas City in which he compiled a passer rating of 0.0.
Denver is now third in the conference behind Cincinnati, and thanks to Osweiler’s steady play, along with the Bengals second straight loss, the Broncos could move up the playoff standings by week’s end.
The Broncos plan to work out free agent quarterback Christian Ponder as a possible backup for Osweiler.
“I think we didn’t execute on certain plays”, linebacker Shea McClellin said.
Last season, Manning had leg injuries and played through them. This means guys are banged up come January; this season, the Broncos can avoid that fate with Manning.
