All week Gary Kubiak has made it clear that Trevor Siemian will be the Broncos starting quarterback. It is the most important game of the preseason as it serves as a dress rehearsal for the regular season with the starters taking the majority of the snaps in the game.

Lynch had his struggles in relief of Siemian, going just 6-of-13 for 57 yards but he did abstain from turning the ball over for the first time all preseason. He was also intercepted once when it wasn’t really his fault but had another interception dropped. Not exactly the results the kid was looking to have. “Does that mean I’m going to (name a starter) tomorrow or Monday? We did some (shotgun) stuff, so we changed it up a little bit and it worked”. For Sanchez to make the team, he needs to clearly separate himself from Siemian, Lynch, or both.
If that happens and Lynch comes in to play most of the second half, we will be witnessing the end of the short-lived Sanchez experiment.
Siemian’s night ended there, with a final line of 10-of-17 passing for 122 yards, one touchdown, one interception and a 76.1 passer rating. He was sacked one more time after the rocky start.
“I still want to know what our guys know without having to try to scheme somebody else”, Zimmer said.
