Asked if Osweiler, who is 3-1 since replacing Manning last month, could keep the starting job even if Manning is cleared to play, Kubiak declined to speculate.
The back-up quarterback had tasted victory in all three of his career starts before the weekend, but he and the Broncos had an afternoon to forget in Sports Authority Field at Mile High.
Manning is recovering from a torn plantar fascia and Osweiler was named the starting quarterback for the fourth consecutive game Sunday at Pittsburgh.
“Peyton’s got plenty of sense, so when everything’s done at the end of the year he’ll sit down and make a decision”, Archie Manning said.
