Denzel Washington wins Golden Globe for ‘outstanding contribution’
Denzel Washington didn’t act in any 2015 movies (though he did produce the music video for Tyrese Gibson’s song “Shame”), but audiences can expect to see him in this year’s remake of The Magnificent Seven, directed by Antoine Fuqua and co-starring Chris Pratt, Matt Bomer, and Ethan Hawke. I thank the Hollywood Foreign Press. “They always made me feel like a friend or part of the party”.

The Golden Globe was one of the first major awards Denzel won, when he scooped the Best Supporting Actor gong for his turn in 1989 American Civil War epic Glory.
The Cecile B. DeMille award is bestowed upon its recipient by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association for “outstanding contributions to the world of entertainment”, a nod much overdue.
‘Any way, God bless you all.
“I’m speechless”, Washington said on stage at the Beverly Hilton after being presented the award by Tom Hanks, with whom he starred in “Philadelphia”. If Washington doesn’t ring out loud enough, then let the first name carry all the weight.
He attended the show with his wife and three children (his son Malcolm was missing), who also stood on the stage beside him as he received the award.
‘Yeah I do need my glasses!’ he said with a smile.
And while the handsome 31-year-old’s good looks shouldn’t come as that much of a surprise (he’s been starring on Ballers alongside Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson recently), it seems the handsome actor’s tuxedo style was too much for some watchers to take!
The award is chosen by the HFPA Board of Directors and was given to George Clooney a year ago, reports E!

Former recipients of the prestigious award include Jodie Foster, Woody Allen, Morgan Freeman, Martin Scorsese, Robin Williams, Harrison Ford and more.
