Deputies: I-75 shut down in Alachua County after man fires at
Alachua County deputies said the trooper stopped to investigate a disabled auto that was on the side of the road, When he approached the vehicle, deputies said a man, who was laying in a ditch fired shots at the trooper.

All north and southbound lanes of Interstate 75 at Micanopy remain closed as crews search for the man who shot at a Florida Highway Patrol trooper.
The suspect then fled into the woods, as stated by FHP.
Sheriff Sadie Darnell with The Alachua County Sheriff’s Office says they are not calling this an active shooter situation, but a situation with a state of mind they are not aware of.
Sgt. Tracy Pace told The Gainesville Sun that the trooper was not injured.
Northbound and southbound traffic were closed at mile marker 375 near Micanopy.
Lanes of I-75 will be closed for an undetermined time.

Drivers heading nothbound are asked to exit in Marion County before heading into Alachua County.
