A report from the Polk County Sheriff’s Department shows deputies responded to a call of an erratic driver on January 31, eventually catching up with the vehicle after it was parked at a public boat launch along the Apple River.
Hahn was floored by what he found. Eggert and her boyfriend Jason Roth were riding shotgun.
According to police, the nine-year-old girl drove the couple for miles; fortunately there wasn’t an accident.
“As the nine-year-old exited the truck, it was still running and in drive when Mr. Roth was sitting in the truck by himself”, Deputy Hahn said in court.
The deputy arrested the couple when he learned that their 9-year-old daughter was driving them and their baby home in their pickup truck because they were both intoxicated, according to the complaint from the county prosecutor’s office. “He turned the ignition off and the truck began rolling backward down the hill towards the river”. In one of his breath tests, Roth blew a. 25 – more than three times the legal limit to drive in Wisconsin. Eggert is also charged with battery to an EMT and a firefighter, as well as disorderly conduct.
“Both the male and female were quite intoxicated”, court papers obtained by NBC News state, referring to Roth and Eggert.
