Derby opened their FA Cup campaign on Saturday with a hard-fought victory away to League Two club Hartlepool United.

But Championship promotion chasers Derby are likely to provide another tricky tie for Van Gaal’s side.

Meanwhile, holders Arsenal, attempting to become only the third team to win the competition for three successive years, have been rewarded for beating Sunderland 3-1 with a home tie against Burnley. Liverpool will host West Ham if it gets past Exeter in a replay and Chelsea was given an away match at either Northampton or MK Dons, both lower-league teams.

There could be another all-Premier League clash between Aston Villa and Manchester City if the struggling Midlands club can over Wycombe Wanderers having been held to a 1-1 draw by the League Two outfit on Saturday.

Tottenham will also have to come through a replay after salvaging a 2-2 draw with Leicester City yesterday with Harry Kane scoring a controversial late penalty and the victor of that tie will take on Colchester United away from home.

Watford travel to Nottingham Forest and Bournemouth could enjoy a short trip to Fratton Park if local rivals Portsmouth can overcome Ipswich.

The ties will be played on the weekend of the 29th January and the 1st February.
