Rodgers is unable to participate due to injury, the league said. No specifics about the injury were provided.

It was the fifth career Pro Bowl selection for Rodgers, who also received the recognition in 2009, ’11, ’12 and ’14.

Carr threw for 3,987 yards with 32 touchdowns, 13 interceptions and a 91.1 passer rating this season.

Carr was announced as an alternate late last month, when Pro Bowl rosters were announced. The Packers’ coaching staff will also be coaching one of the teams.

In just his second season in the NFL, Raiders quarterback Derek Carr is a Pro Bowler. Making the leap from Year 1 to Year 2 in style, guiding the Raiders to a 7-9 record that included an upset road win over the Denver Broncos.

Recently, Pro Bowl has become tad meaningless since big names pull out of the match randomly.

Players were selected without regard to conference in voting by fans, coaches and players. Third, I want to thank everyone who voted for me and all of the opposing players and coaches that voted for me.
