Derrick Rose: Rose could have double vision for 3 months?
Derrick Rose’s shot chart looks bloodshot. Rose has had problems with double vision since having surgery on September 30, but the three-time National Basketball Association All-Star is remaining positive about improving his game despite the issues.

Hopefully Rose’s vision does come back sooner than the three-month timetable Hoiberg gave.
The timetable was news to Rose when asked about it after Hoiberg spoke following the team’s practice. “But for this to be seven or eight weeks out and still the same way, I can’t do nothing but live with it. Get the most out of every day, keep putting my deposits in and keep working on my game until my eye gets better”.
Rose is averaging just 12.6 points per game this season, almost eight points less than his career average. He is also struggling from the field, shooting a dismal 35.9 percent and only making one 3-pointer out of 18 attempts thus far.
The Bulls are 6-3 and host the Indiana Pacers on Monday night before beginning a four-game road trip in Phoenix on Wednesday. His inability to shoot from long range makes him a liability off the ball, and he’s not been an effective enough creator with the ball in his hands to justify taking possessions away from Jimmy Butler. “But that’s part of [the recovery], I guess”. “Everything else will come”.
Playing with 50 percent vision is obviously less than ideal, especially given Rose’s struggles to perform at an All-Star-caliber level last season with two working eyes. Outside of Rose’s performance against Oklahoma City on November 5, his play has been less than satisfactory.
The Bulls have enough talent around Rose for them to keep winning games until Rose’s vision is back to normal.
“I’m missing a lot of shots where I normally hit”, Rose said. It’s still preseason for me, the (ninth) game.

“The depth perception of the rim, my eyes are thrown off”, Rose said. He returned from the injury fairly quickly, but if his vision is as bad as he describes, and it won’t get better for three months, it would seem prudent to hold him out.
