Details Of Kermit and Miss Piggy’s Relationship Status

“I can’t wait until next year”, Miss Piggy says.
It seems as though both muppets have moved on with their lives. Protective parents can rest assured that Sam the Eagle, representing network standards and practices, is there to protect children from words like “crotchety”. The Muppets gets no raunchier than jokes about cuddling, a soft Fozzie reference to responses to listing himself as a bear in his dating profile and a fairly awesome comment about gender fluidity from Pepe.
Why can’t these kids tell they are insane about one another? The Muppets is produced by ABC Studios and The Muppets Studio.
Of course, the show-within-a-show idea mixed with meta humor has now become TV’s default comedic trope, and though the Muppets are self-aware about that – regarding the new series’ mockumentary style and exhausted one-on-one interviews – it’s not a far cry from what the group has always done. And for fans, that should be enough. These are creature puppets, after all. True, this is a notably more adult Muppets show with its little touches of socio-political commentary.

Gilchrist said Henson would “love” the concept behind ABC’s new show because Henson “always wanted the characters to live on”. The old saying that comes to mind is the more things change, the more they stay the same, and as the series begins, Miss Piggy and Kermit have actually split up.
