In a telephone interview Thursday, Alfonso described Schreiber as being a “couple cans short of a six-pack” and doesn’t think he is intellectually capable of setting the blaze without coaching.

A Florida judge has denied bond for the man accused of setting a Fort Pierce mosque on fire.

Mateen was killed by police after opening fire at the Pulse nightclub on June 12 in a rampage that left 49 victims dead and 53 wounded, making it the worst mass shooting in modern USA history.

Police charged Schreiber with arson and he could face a mandatory minimum of 30 years because of his status as a repeat offender.

In July, Schreiber posted a screed rife with typos and misspellings in which he seemed to say that all Muslims are inherently war criminals.

Joseph Schreiber, 32, is a Jewish, Donald Trump-supporting ex-con who lives at home with his parents in Port St. Lucie.

“We appreciate the high level of communication and collaboration of the St. Lucie Sheriff’s Office and the U.S. Department of Justice, specifically the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Florida, with CAIR-Florida and the Muslim community,”spokesman Wilfredo Ruiz says in a statement”.

Schreiber was ordered held without bail earlier Thursday.

Benson said Schreiber’s father showed up at his office Wednesday afternoon after his son was arrested, even though he wasn’t a member of his synagogue.

Yacucci cited Schreiber’s two previous prison stays for theft and said he is a danger to the community and a flight risk.

Security video captured a man running from the scene as the fire started and authorities believe that person was Schreiber, said WPBF-TV. Orlando nightclub shooter Omar Mateen had occasionally attended the mosque.

His Facebook page is a jumble of anti-Islamic, pro-Israel, anti-Hillary Clinton, pro-Trump posts.

A Facebook page apparently belonging to the suspect, established under his name with photos resembling his booking photo, include a message posted on July 12 that said “ALL ISLAM IS RADICAL, and should be considered TERRORIST AND CRIMANALS” written in capital letters with several misspellings.

At a news conference announcing Schreiber’s arrest, Sheriff’s Major David Thompson said the suspect owns a motorcycle like the one seen in the video.
