Detroit 2016: Porsche 911 Carrera S Cabriolet
Porsche said it hopes to have the transition complete sometime this year. To wit, every third 911 produced goes to America and, even more eye-popping, Turbo models accounted for fully percent of US 911 sales.

And it is here in Detroit.
In the Turbo, the engines kicks out 540 horsepower while in the Turbo S, it produces 580 ponies.
Porsche on Monday debuted a pair of powerful new sports cars while promising a major investment in eventually developing an all-electric speedster.
At the heart of both the Turbo and Turbo S is a more powerful 3.8 litre, twin-turbocharged cylinder engine.
The facelifted Porsche 911 Turbo S will be the fastest-accelerating 911 production model when it is launched in the United Kingdom at the end of this month, with a 0-100 kph time of just 2.9sec – around 0.2 sec faster than its predecessor.
Interior changes are minor but include a new sport steering wheel with a rotary selector that has Normal, Sport, Sport Plus, and Individual modes.
The Porsche Stability Management program or PSM now offers a sport mode that when activated allows the driver to “approach the limits more closely” before the system cuts in to help maintain stability.
The new 911 Turbo S is also among a select group of road going 911 models to boast a top speed in excess of 320 kph, with official performance claims pointing to a potential maximum of 330 kph – the same top speed achieved by the frenzied 611bhp 911 GT2 RS produced in 2010. They also come with a new infotainment system with a 7-inch touchscreen monitor and Google Earth maps.
It only took some tweaks, such as the inlet ports in the cylinder head, new injection nozzles and fuel pressure for the “base” Turbo, although the Turbo S did get new turbochargers with larger compressors. The Turbo starts at around $159,000 while the Turbo S starts at a tick over $188,000.

Porsche has been kind enough not to gift the Grey coupe with the optional centerlock wheels, so we can easily distinguish between this and the White 911 Turbo S Cabriolet. With these two new introductions, the current 911 lineup now consist of a staggering 21 models.
