UPDATE #1 – 1:30 p.m. ET – Ian Rapoport is reporting the early word is Ebron may have ruptured his Achilles.

Twentyman also reported that Ebron was carted off the field and was not putting any pressure on his right leg.

Lions General Manager Bob Quinn says injuries happen in football. Ebron caught a few huge passes, setting up the Lions first-team’s first touchdown of the game.

To this point, he has yet to live up to the No. 10 overall draft spot in which he was selected by the Lions. After Calvin Johnson’s retirement, Ebron could have had a bigger role in the team’s offense this season.

He was blocking on a run by Ameer Abdullah when he was hurt.

If Ebron misses time, veteran Brandon Pettigrew would likely see the bulk of the action at tight end, though he is on the PUP list, leaving Matthew Mulligan and Adam Fuehne as the Lions’ top two active tight ends. Lions coach Jim Caldwell had no comment on Ebron’s injury after practice concluded.
