Detroit Lions players react to Teddy Bridgewater’s gruesome injury

Speaking on 1500 ESPN Radio Wednesday, famed injury doctor Will Carroll revealed that the Minnesota Vikings trainers could have actually saved his life.

The third-year man went down without being touched after dropping back and grabbed his left knee.

Bridgewater crumpled on a non-contact injury in Vikings training camp, tearing his ACL and dislocating his knee. However with him in his second to last year of his contract and due to make $600,000 this year, he would be a cheaper option to trade for instead of Sanchez or Kaepernick for the Vikings. The ACL and knee were likely close to failing at anytime, and it just so happened that it was a non-contact injury, but what if it would have been a contact play, or worse yet, held on until the first time he was sacked in a game, maybe on September 11? Our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family as he begins the road to recovery.

It’s not good, but it certainly could have been worse… He isn’t expected to play in the team’s final preseason game on Thursday against San Francisco, but he said he’s capable of playing in the opener on September 11 at Kansas City. While the Vikings will have to play the season out with Shaun Hill (or someone else they acquire at some point) under center, Bridgewater will be diligently working his way back so he can lead the team next season. After missing a preseason game August 18 at Seattle because of an apparent sore shoulder, he came back last Sunday to complete 12 of 16 passes for 161 yards and a touchdown in a 23-10 exhibition win over San Diego. “We were looking forward to the big game at the new stadium and I think it is going to be a little bit tainted”, Steve Norenberg said.

“Hopefully we’re talking about Teddy the same way next year at this time”, he said. “By that I mean, people are asking for some insane things, people think that you”™re desperate, and we”™re not going to do something that “” in my estimation and talking with Coach Zim and our ownership “” it puts us in a situation where we jeopardize the future of this franchise.”. We’re going to try to figure out as coaches the very best way we can beat the team we are playing that week.

McCarron is a victor pure and straightforward, and he also handles pressure very well for a young QB something that is extremely valuable in today’s National Football League where QBs are nearly judged exclusively off their playoff performance and regular season stats are ignored. “The No. 1 thing is Teddy is such a great kid”, Zimmer said.

“It’s not up to me, it’s up to the coaches”, he said.
