So consider this a word of warning: maybe don’t Global Positioning System spoof.

If you’re one of the legions of Pokemon GO trainers who have been relying on cheats or third-party software to make your collecting more efficient, I have some bad news.
Here’s a helpful warning: If you’re creating an homage to a famous game franchise that basically copies the game’s style, and even uses the franchise’s name in the name of your game itself, you might not want to invest a ton of time into it.
Previously, third-party tracking apps were quite popular with Pokemon Go before Niantic Labs stepped in and made them obsolete with a patch. Should you dare to hack your way into glory, then suffer the outcome of being stuck playing Pokemon Red, Blue, Green, Crystal, but never ever Pokemon GO (ever ever again).
Of course, those requests didn’t stop some people from using whatever means possible to increase their chance of getting rare Pokemon without having to actually play Pokemon Go. One of the more common violations, called GPS spoofing, sees gamers manipulating the global positioning system (GPS) of their phone and modifying the location to access what were inaccessible Pokemon-a sort of teleportation device for cheaters. Other third-party trackers chose to shutdown after being requested to by Niantic Labs.
Our goal is to provide a fair, fun and legitimate game experience for everyone.
Niantic has been desperately trying to curb all forms of cheating behavior, but they’ve mostly been playing cat and mouse as different types of cheats have emerged following bans or limits on other types of methods. “We advise you to be extremely cautious about downloading the game from unofficial sources”, warn Pokemon Uranium’s developers.
Pokemon Uranium wen live last month in July with a trailer that has garnered over 1.2 million views.

With many gamers worldwide still now enamored by Niantic’s mega-successful Pokemon GO, as well as the upcoming November release of Pokemon Sun and Moon, there will be more than enough Pokemon-related titles to keep players busy for a while.
