According to French media outlet RMC, Ligue 1 Champions PSG have approached Premier League side Manchester United over the signing of Angle di Maria, and have been met by a favourable reaction from the Red Devils.
Whether, Di Maria would be able to fill the void left by a player like Ibrahimovic remains to be seen but his form in England last term would suggest that he would struggle, with the 27-year-old failing to complete 90 minutes on the since February 11th. But at our level we aim for players who play for other big clubs. “Competition is very, very tough”.
The British transfer record signing endured a hard first 12 months at Old Trafford last season and has failed to settle in Manchester following his £59.7 million move from Real Madrid.
However, Paris Saint-Germain boss Blanc slammed the door on these hopes.
Speaking with L’Equipe, manager Laurent Blanc confirmed that PSG were keen on acquiring the services of Angel Di Maria. “We must be proactive”, added the retired defender. Di Maria is reportedly recovering after suffering a hamstring injury but he should flourish next season following some rest.
