PSG and United agreed a 63 million euro (£44.3million) fee for the midfielder on Sunday and earlier this week he passed a medical in Qatar.

“It really is an honor for the club to finally sign Angel”.

“I know a lot of big clubs were interested because he is a great player“, said PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi.

Showed a 2-0 win over Lyon in Montreal that champions Ligue 1 was not completely lost the momentum it had accumulated by the end of last season during the summer.

“We are going to try and go as far as possible in the Champions League”.

Paris Saint-Germain have confirmed the signing of Angel Di Maria from Manchester United.

The Argentine winger joined the French champions on Thursday just 12 months after his much heralded arrival at Old Trafford from Real Madrid.

The 27-year-old moved to Old Trafford from Real Madrid last August in a deal worth £59.7 million, a club record transfer for British football.

“After representing Argentina at the Copa America, he did not participate on Tour 2015, presented by Aon, so his final appearance for the club came against Hull City when he was injured and withdrawn in the first half”.

Not helped by being shunted around in several different positions by manager Louis van Gaal, he lacked consistency and there was also the trauma of being at home with his family when burglars tried to break in. He will also be reunited with Argentina teammates Javier Pastore and Ezequiel Lavezzi.

“I have been in Paris for two days and I am delighted because I know my wife and my daughter will be happy here”. He has been here for various years and has been saying that it is a lovely city. Di Maria, we have solved that problem, but it is a big loss because I want attackers with speed and creativity.

That makes Di Maria the second most expensive player in the history of French football behind Uruguayan striker Edinson Cavani, who joined Paris from Napoli for 64 million euros in the summer of 2013.
