The 73rd Golden Globe awards to honor and recognise the best movies and American television shows of 2015 were held on January 10, 2016 at California, USA.

The 40-year-old star, who picked up the best supporting actress gong for her role in Danny Boyle’s film Steve Jobs, said she did not expect to win the award.
“Pain is temporary, but a film is forever”, Inarritu said.
And so no one really thinks too hard about the endless declarations of genius by The Revenant’s Alejandro G. Inarritu, who is now so committed to his cockeyed idea of “realism” that he will probably get someone killed on his next film, or the weirdness of best actor (drama) victor Leonardo DiCaprio thanking the dozens of people who allowed him to court exposure and food poisoning in pursuit of Inarritu’s ecstatic truth.
Damon won the best actor trophy in a musical or comedy category for his role of Mark Watney, a botanist in The Martian. In her speech, she said: “I wanted to be an actress before I wanted to be a singer”.
“Steve Jobs”, a controversial look at the late Apple co-founder that floundered at the box office despite warm reviews, took home Golden Globes for supporting actress Kate Winslet, and screenwriter Aaron Sorkin.
First of all, giving any kind of meaning whatsoever to the Golden Globes is to ascribe to a belief in the higher power of awards season, that somehow it all adds up.
All those films have proven popular with critics, which may be part of the reason they have seemed to have so much heat around them, but of a kind which may not correspond to enthusiasm from Oscar voters. This category will remain a head-scratcher until the Oscar ceremony, that is, until the SAG Awards clear things up a bit more.
The Golden Globes was a big deal for many reasons – Ricky Gervais’s only-just-acceptably-close-to-the-bone presenting, Leo’s win, Gaga’s bitchy-looking nudge – but one of the biggest was when we knew the official +1 was o-v-e-r.
Original Score: Ennio Morricone, “The Hateful Eight”. “More and more of these films have to come out”. Gael Garcia Bernal got his first nomination and award for best actor-comedy for Mozart in the Jungle. This year could see more populist fare than ever vying for best picture – with Mad Max: Fury Road, Creed and even Star Wars: The Force Awakens being possible nominees – and momentum like this could help the well-liked Martian blast off as a strong contender against the heavier dramas.

Gervais, in his fourth time hosting, spared little time before laying into the HFPA and the awards’ network, NBC, which he noted had no nominations. That’s up 3% in the local markets over last year’s telecast.
