He told Variety in May, “I think Amy’s immediately viable movie career is something that she’s going to be pretty focused on going forward”. It presents an odd contradiction in her messaging: she finally condemned Metzger’s comments after receiving pressure on social media to do so, yet she’s blocked numerous people who exerted that pressure.

Then, she clarified, saying it’s not that she fired him. “There are no writers”.

Metzger flamed the ban, and seemed to criticize alleged sex assault victims who don’t go to the police.

But that didn’t quell the social media demand that she fire him from her show, where he is credited as a writer, including the recent season finale.

It comes after one of her writers, Kurt Metzger, made some controversial and public comments about rape. “We butt heads, we get in fights because he infuriates us”. However, Schumer said that Metzeger’s views on rape is not a representative of her at all.

“He baits people”, she said. “I would love to refocus the energy and the attention on the real problem”, she continued. “Let’s focus on actually getting the problem done”.

“I’m saddened and disappointed in Kurt Metzger”, she wrote.

“I’m grateful @ComedyCentral is giving me this time to work on other projects”, she continues. Inside Amy Schumer is up for four more Emmys this year.

Schumer is now promoting her new book, “The Girl With the Lower Back Tattoo”. Her publisher Simon & Schuster cancelled the event, slated to be held at North Central College, Thursday morning.
