Did Clinton know all along what the DNC was up to?
(Updates throughout with detail of nomination, Tuesday events, Trump comment) By John Whitesides and Alana Wise PHILADELPHIA, July 26 (Reuters) – Hillary Clinton was set to become the first woman presidential nominee of a major us party on Tuesday, a historic moment that Democrats hope will help eclipse rancor between supporters of Clinton and her rival in the primary contests, Bernie Sanders. “She does not deserve to be at this convention”, Alexander said. “And because of Hillary Clinton, my daughters and all our sons and daughters now take for granted that a woman can be president of the United States”.

A crucial moment of the night came when Sanders delivered the full-throated endorsement that the Clinton campaign had longed for.
Wasserman Schultz announced Sunday that she would resign as DNC chairwoman after this week’s events in Philadelphia.
Obama condemned “the hateful language that we hear from public figures on TV”, saying that “our motto is, when they go low, we go high”.
“Brothers and sisters, this is the real world that we live in”, Sanders pleaded. He angrily lashed out Wednesday night at critics, who he said “want me dead, literally dead”. The email dump provided by Wikileaks also highlighted DNC staffers mocking Bernie Sanders jewish faith.
Canova and Sanders have turned to the same Democratic digital firm, Revolution Messaging, to help with fundraising. Both Sanders and Clinton did that. Now, it looks like Democrats will have the same struggle through the course of the week.
Ohio Rep. Marcia Fudge has been selected to serve as chair of the Democratic National Convention, which kicks off Monday. Sanders did his part to tamp down the controversy, sending an email to his delegates asking them to do him a personal courtesy not to disrupt the evening.
It’s a down-ballot twist on how Bernie Sanders, who has endorsed Canova, was able to raise more than $235 million during his primary race against the far more politically connected and initially better-funded Hillary Clinton.
The fallout of the scandal has resulted the resignation DNC Chairperson Debbie Wasserman Schultz, as well as intense protests by Sanders supporters upon the opening of the Democratic National Convention.

But Monday morning was a preview of what could happen when she takes the convention stage. Once again, CNN was the top choice to watch the convention, with the news network logging 6.17 million viewers between 10 p.m. ET and the convention’s close.
