A few minutes later, the man approached Zimmerman and his friends and punched him in the face, Zimmerman said.

A few details were in each witness’ statement.

The incident report described the confrontation that ensued as follows: Mr. Whitmer said “You’re the one that shot that n- in Sanford, right here!”.

“He recognized me”, Zimmerman explained during the conversation to law enforcement, which was noted by WFTV-9.

Zimmerman called 911 to report he had been assaulted. The wife of the Joseph Whitmer, the man at the table Zimmerman approached is on record as saying that when he approached the table he said, “Hey, I like your racist tattoos”.

The man then fled on a blue Harley Davidson motorcycle.

Citing Seminole County Sheriff’s Department reports, the Sentinel says the incident began when Zimmerman passed another table and complimented a man’s tattoo of the Confederate flag.

As of today, the man – who police said is named “Eddie” – has not been arrested. When asked if anyone had been drinking, Zimmerman replied, “They have, obviously”.

Worrell said another friend went over to Zimmerman’s table and there was a heated exchange. “He said, ‘You don’t know who I am, do you?’ And Zimmerman said, ‘I’m George Zimmerman'”.

David Worrell told police he asked Zimmerman to leave their table.

Zimmerman: I’m trying but his friends are all around us.

Zimmerman was reportedly bragging about the shooting, introducing himself as “that guy who killed Trayvon Martin” before pulling out his ID.

Zimmerman told the Sentinel that his assailant thought he was Apperson.

The phone wasn’t damaged so he called 911 as did Zimmerman. No one has yet been charged.
