Did Liverpool outcast Mario Balotelli meet with Jose Mourinho?

Liverpool misfit Mario Balotelli has held talks with Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho as the Portuguese coach made a decision to help his former player a new club – but he won’t be heading to Old Trafford.

Balotelli is represented by Mino Raiola, the agent who has been tying up deals for his other clients Paul Pogba, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrikh Mkhitaryan heading to Old Trafford, but the former Manchester City man will not be turning out in Red any time soon.

Italian outlet Calciomercato say that Balotelli, whose career has stalled at Anfield, sought career advice from his old boss when the pair met up recently. Balotelli has been linked with numerous clubs in recent weeks, but has not yet sealed a move away from Liverpool. The Premier League-winning boss – who joined United in the summer – is said to have told the controversial Liverpool star he must improve his attitude in order to realise his potential as a player.

Despite being four years away from his 30th birthday, his career has taken him back and forth between Milan and England.

The former Liverpool and Manchester City forward endured a hard season at AC Milan, where a sports hernia and reports of poor fitness kept his appearances in the single digits.

Balotelli was then loaned to Milan for the following season but groin surgery kept him out of action for three months and he managed only three goals in 23 games back at San Siro. Listen below or subscribe here on iTunes.
