Texas governor Greg Abbott knows how to pour salt in an open wound.
Lots of Houston Astros fans are blaming Texas Gov. Greg Abbott for Monday night’s loss against the Kansas City Royals.
Only one problem – the Astros lost that game.
Cliff Saunders, of Sports Talk 790, took a screen grab of the later-deleted tweet.
According to the AP, the tweet, now deleted, was sent by a staffer, according to Abbott spokesman John Wittman.
On his personal account, the governor tweeted: “Follow the REAL Greg Abbott right here”.
At the time of the tweet, the Astros were up 6-2 entering the eighth inning. It’s just that the Royals then scored seven unanswered runs and won 9-6.
