Diddy Donates $1 Million to Howard University Scholarship Fund
The Bad Boy boss made the announcement of the gift on Thursday night (Sept. 22) during a Washington, D.C. stop on the Bad Boy Family reunion tour. “One of the biggest blessings is to be able to support those who supported me!”

It’s the first donation to The Sean Combs Scholarship Fund. And to support the people that supported you. “When I delivered the commencement address at Howard, I asked the students ‘Do you know how powerful you are?’ I know that Howard students are intelligent, talented, passionate and their hard work will shape the future”.
In 2014, the All about The Benjamins rapper, who is worth an estimated $750m, was awarded an honorary doctorate degree.
Combs first attended Howard University for two years, but dropped out in 1990 before completing his education. “Because the only reason why I was able to chase my dreams was the empowerment that Howard gave me, the support that they gave me, the first two years”.
Combs has supported a number of educational and other charities, including children in NY schools.
University president Dr. Wayne A.I. Frederick called the new scholarship “life-altering” for students whose finances may create a hurdle towards receiving a college education. You know heaven, ‘ he said.
“It’s heaven”, President Frederick said.

Howard will start dishing out the scholarships next year to undergraduate students hoping to pursue a career in degree, but they must have a 3.0 GPA (85 per cent pass rate) and prove they need financial help. Recipients will also be granted a summer internship at Bad Boy Entertainment or Revolt Media & TV and will be assigned a mentor.
