Die-Hard Ravens Fan Michael Phelps Not Impressed With Reporter Wearing Steelers Gear

While he may have had a similar reaction to a reporter wearing Bengals gear being a fan of Baltimore (where he’s from), in that moment, Phelps had the hearts of Cincinnati fans. Ravens fans and players alike cheered as he won his 22nd career gold medal.

During a press conference, Phelps called out a reporter for wearing Pittsburgh Steeler paraphernalia.

“Is that a Steelers?”. “Steelers. whew”, he shuddered. During the team’s first preseason game, action was halted as Phelps swam in the 200m Individual Medley.

The Ravens have embraced Phelps’ historic run in the Olympics. “Maybe now he will”, Harbaugh said. “He’s going to be out here again, I’m sure soon, watching practice”. Former star linebacker Ray Lewis came to Phelps’ aid after the swimmer’s DUI bust in 2015 and pushed him to go to rehab. “I’m just really proud of Michael Phelps”.

What really delighted Harbaugh was Phelps’ medal ceremony following his victory in the 200-meter butterfly.

Growing up in Baltimore, he was a pre-teen when the Ravens moved to town.

“Yeah, that was fun to watch”, Harbaugh said.

“That was awesome and huge”, Harbaugh said. “My wife and daughter and I all knew exactly what it was”. We started laughing. We all knew it. Maybe the rest of the country didn’t know it, but all of us knew, right?

Phelps has visited the team and attended games in the past. Don’t wear Steelers gear if you want him to answer you. “Can he carry them all?”
