Diego Costa open to Atletico Madrid return

I think the end of the season is the moment to change things when people analyse the work of the season and believe that the best time is to change.

Has Chelsea striker Diego Costa learned much English?

Chelsea striker Diego Costa has claimed that his relationship with Jose Mourinho is “great”, despite recently appearing to throw a bib in his manager’s direction in an act of frustration.

The Spanish worldwide has struggled to replicate the impressive form he displayed in his debut season at Stamford Bridge following his £32m move from Aletico, and has scored just four goals in all competitions for the Blues this season. “But my relationship with Mourinho is unbelievable”.

Costa, restored to the starting line-up by Mourinho, was involved in the all-important opening goal in his team’s 2-0 win at Stamford Bridge, where their victory took them through to the knockout stage as group winners.

“You never know, look where Filipe Luis is now”, he told Onda Cero when asked about a possible return to the Rojiblanco. “I always wish Atletico the best and always follow them and support them from afar”.

The Portuguese tactician will be fully aware of the fact that their results domestically must improve, and he will be hoping that Fabregas will be able to play his role in getting Chelsea back up the table and competing for a top-four finish.

But his form has led to suggestions Chelsea are in the market for a new striker, while he has often been linked with a return to Spain.

He has one Champions League goal for the Blues since his summer 2014 arrival. “If I could choose, I want to face them in the [Champions League] final”. “I have to improve and the team has to improve”.

“The first goal was fundamental, because they Porto were in a hard position because they needed to win and we knew we could concede a goal and still qualify”.
