Chelsea came from behind to secure all three points against Watford with Diego Costa and Michy Batshuayi sealing a 2-1 Premier League win. “They showed great attitude and commitment with Cesc Fabregas and Michy Batshuayi making a real impact”, Conte told the BBC.

“I think also that its important to create the right feeling because me and my staff try to give them 110 per cent in our work every day and, for this reason, I also ask this of my players”. Normally these wins are very important to improve, to transfer the work, for our confidence to rise, because after a bad season like a year ago it’s not easy to start, to win two games.

But Conte defended the volatile Spain forward, saying: “He scored two goals but I d have preferred him to score them earlier”.

The result has left Watford still searching for their first win of the season, but Cathcart is hopeful that the results will come as they begin to play more fixtures.

Watford will be disappointed to have ended the game with nothing to show for their own display having matched Chelsea in a tiresome first half and taken the lead through a fantastic Capoue strike.

“In the first half I saw a good balance between the teams”. He is working very hard.

Conte said: “If you look now at our squad, we have only five defenders – four that started today and an academy player Ola Aina”.

With time running out before the transfer deadline passes, the last thing that Conte will want to do is panic buy and spend over the odds for a player that isn’t worth the price-tag.

Mazzarri added: “Of course we will shake hands”. I think for the English league, this is not good. Both goals were from our mistakes.

“I’m very disappointed. At the moment, what counts is we have grown as a team and improved compared to last week”.
