Nissan made a decision to launch the XD first, highlighting the 5.0-liter diesel powerplant co-developed with Cummins. The XD model in particular has been created to tackle some heavy-duty needs while narrowly remaining, by definition, a light-duty pickup. The oil burner delivers 310 horsepower and 555 lb-ft of torque, delivered via a six-speed transmission and capable of towing up to 12,314 pounds. The Titan XD’s $41,485 bottom line seems steep, towering over the base prices of regular full-size pickups, but it’s only $2560 more than the least-expensive Ram 1500 crew cab with the optional EcoDiesel V-6 engine. All models come in Crew Cab configuration.
Early next year, V-6 and V-8 gasoline engines will be made available.
The top-of-the-line 2016 Pathfinder Platinum four-wheel-drive model is priced at $44,150, including shipping.

The Titan XD’s pricing rises to as much as $61,715 for the premium, all-wheel-drive version of the pickup, Nissan said today in a statement. Available in five grade levels and a choice of 4×4 and 4×2 drivetrains, the Cummins 5.0L V8 turbo diesel-equipped TITAN XD has a starting manufacturer’s suggested retail price of 40,290 dollars for the S 4×2 version. Ride quality is a bit easier in the Titan XD than in the heavy-duty pickups, such as the Ford F-250 and F-350 and Ram 3500 that we test-drove at the same time. We will have many more XD videos coming very soon. Assembly takes place at Nissan’s plant in Canton, Miss. The new TITAN lineup will be offered later in three cab layout, two frame sizes and three powertrain offerings.
