Diesel says Guardians of the Galaxy to be in next ‘Avengers’

So yeah, if you made the safe bet that the Guardians were going to turn up in Infinity War, guess what?

That, however, hasn’t been confirmed until now.

In a Facebook live video that aired on the actor’s personal page on Friday, Diesel confirmed that the Guardians of the Galaxy will appear in the upcoming Avengers movie Infinity War.

“The Guardians will be included in ‘Avengers: Infinity War”, says Diesel after reflecting on his time with Marvel Studios so far, “and that’s incredibly exciting”. First up, we’ve got a decidedly non-Thanos, non-Infinity Stone adventure ahead, and if the Comic-Con footage was any indication, Gunn has pulled off the Guardians’ unusual magic once again. Will the two teams actually team up?

For the record, Diesel did not address the alleged beef with Dwayne Johnson, in which his Fast 8 co-star accused him of acting like a “candy ass” on set, but he did say that his co-star Helen Mirren was “nothing but a delight”. How will Star Lord and Iron Man get along?

The Avengers: Infinity War movies recently began production in Atlanta and are set for release in 2018 and 2019. The exact plot of the film is still unknown, but it was revealed at San Diego Comic-Con that it will feature the living planet Ego as Star Lord’s father, something which is not the case in the comics.

The Russo brothers, who are directing the third Avengers flick after proving to have the golden touch in their previous MCU outings, admitted as much earlier this year while playing coy about who exactly would be in the movie’s large cast.

Meanwhile, Marvel recently announced that Avengers: Infinity War is no longer a two-part film.
