Dimitri Payet ready to start against Watford, says coach Slaven Bilic

Payet featured for Les Bleus as a substitute in the 3-1 friendly win over Italy and the 0-0 World Cup qualifying draw against Belarus over the global break, though, and West Ham manager Bilic is expecting to welcome his star man back into the fold. Find out by following our live matchcast.
The defeat is a third of the league season for West Ham, who sit 17th in the fledgling standings and have already crashed out of the Europa League.
Head coach Slaven Bilić’s side managed to cut the lead to one point with a goal from midfielder Michail Antonio at the 58th, but Sterling sealed the game with his second goal of the game in stoppage time. Watford are a risky team with Ighalo and Troy Deeney up front, and the timing of their goals will give the Hornets plenty of momentum heading into the second half.
“Altogether, Payet was among the three players at the tournament that football was talking about the most”, said Bilic. “I’m a new manager here at Watford but slowly we are going to build great things”.
“On our list were [Alexandre] Lacazette, [Simone] Zaza, Bacca and [Michy] Batshuayi, but I knew it would be hard to buy them”, Bilic told MilanNews.
“I think it will give him more motivation and more confidence”.
“In the second half we didn’t have that space behind them”. That happens. Of course it shouldn’t, but you don’t expect it to happen again. We controlled the game, we were two up, I was happy with the way we were pressing them.
“Their first goal came from a very predictable situation and we should have made them do better to hurt us”. After that, we had a couple of opportunities where we could have scored, but we didn’t.

‘In this market session we tried to raise the bar trying to buy players who a few years ago would have been unthinkable for our club, ‘ said Bilic.
