With Bilic’s squad containing several experienced Premier League players beginning to approach the twilight of their career, there are plenty of options at Upton Park for Championship clubs to strengthen their squads.

The France worldwide is reportedly attracting several suitors, with Turkish Super Lig champions Galatasaray said to be among those interested in securing the 28-year-old’s services.

“We were like a selling club and all that, but we are moving stadiums and we are talking and acting like we are going to try, not overnight, to go up with the club and everything”.

‘For me, the most important thing regarding that is not to sell your best players. He is our player and we want him to stay and he is staying’. “He was doing the things he’s doing for us last year, and the year before – that’s why we got him”.

The 28-year-old has been an immediate hit at West Ham since his £10 million move from Marseille in the summer, swiftly becoming the key figure in his side’s charge for European football.

“I think Payet is, after Ozil, No. 2 in terms of creating chances or the amount of crosses he makes”.

Payet has been the leading man for West Ham since joining from Marseille in the close-season, contributing six goals in 16 Premier League appearances.

After initially stating that there was “no money in the world” that would convince him to let Payet leave, he later reiterated: “No. Any club, no. Never”. He’s a really good professional, he does not skip training and he’s motivated in training. “But he is, and I have no problem saying that, our best player”.

Bilic is closing in on a loan deal for Fenerbahce striker Emmanuel Emenike.

“We are waiting for that, because it is a complicated situation”, Bilic added.
