Ding! Ding! Revis, Marshall get testy at Jets camp
Marshall was then then lifted up and carried away by fellow receiver Quincy Enunwa. Marshall soon responded with an 80-yard touchdown and a heap of trash talking. With Calvin Pryor playing as the hybrid safety/linebacker closer to the line of scrimmage and the ball, it could be a fun pairing to watch down the road.

Revis says “it’s football, man, ” and it wasn’t the first time the two have gotten into it during a practice session.
“We’re both pros”, Marshall said.
“I threw it to a rookie, too, which was bad, like a double whammy”, Fitzpatrick said. At least according to Marshall. “Then, on the third one, he swung and hit me in the face, and ever since then, it got really competitive”. Players are battling it out for roster spots and trying to get under the skin of their competition to get the upper hand.
“So that came back up in that moment”.
Marshall wouldn’t divulge what Revis said to upset him on the field, but reporters heard him taunt Revis after his touchdown catch, calling him out for getting burned for two touchdowns last season by the Texans’ DeAndre Hopkins. He also accused Revis of making personal comments that “went off the field”. He felt Revis should’ve been flagged for pass interference. “Marshall wouldn’t shut up, screaming at Revis when he was on the sideline”. “Everybody knows that, so as he learns the system, and gets more comfortable, you look for him to make more progress”. But I appreciated it because it took my practice to a whole other level. “I learned from it”.
Revis’ thoughts on the intramural dissent remained private as he did not speak to the media. This was his first full practice since off-season wrist surgery. “We are not judging a beauty pageant”, said head coach Todd Bowles. “You just don’t play linebacker, and play in this league with one area to focus on”. It’s not charm school.
“Both of them got to where they were from making plays and not backing down”, the coach said. We’re not going to go back and forth [about] who does what [in that particular altercation]. You like that competitiveness.
They seemed very much adversaries for most of practice, though.
“He’s day-by-day, week-by-week, but more day-by-day at this point”, Bowles said. “[Scrimmaging] would be hard to do to veterans, because you would be cut-blocking and things like that”.
Brandon Marshall and Darrelle Revis turned up the heat in a good old-fashioned summer skirmish to spice up the monotony of training camp. “He should be. I should be”, Marshall said. “It’s about that time of camp when it gets a little chippy, but we put it out before we get started”. It’s supposed to be.

We’ll be the judge of that Brandon. “But we want them on the edge”. It may take a couple hours. “We can’t go in the locker room, and there’s not going to be any brawl or anything like that”.
