Disappointing news as the Manchester derby in China has been cancelled
The preseason clash between Manchester United and Manchester City has been cancelled after heavy downpours last night left the pitch unplayable.

“I’m sure we will be back very soon, thank you very much for your support and I hope to see you soon”.
Asked if he would shake Guardiola’s hand, former Chelsea boss Mourinho said: “To qualify the question I would use some impolite words”. Why not? Why should he not shake my hand? “A really friendly game”.
“Beijing has good training facilities, but the pitch is wet and it is a problem for our players”, United manager Jose Mourinho said on Sunday. The most important thing is that the players are not going to be injured. And Mourinho can’t wait for it to be over.
“No injuries, play calm, play safe, go home and keep the preparation for next week”.
Manchester United were forced to make an emergency landing 100 miles from Beijing airport yesterday after poor weather.
TV TELECAST: LIVE on Sony ESPN, 5 p.m. “If we manage to do that, then that’s fine”.
The derby match between Manchester United and Manchester City, which was scheduled to be held in China, ha been cancelled. They had their training sessions moved at short notice from the national stadium to the Olympic Sports Centre the day before the game as they worked out in stifling and humid conditions.
More rain is forecast overnight, though, and even if it does go ahead player safety remains a concern, with the pitch a worry for Guardiola and United counterpart Mourinho.
The development topped off a pre-season trip for United that ended chaotically, with organisation as bad as the weather meaning Mourinho just wants to get his players home in one piece.

“We know the humidity for the training is not ideal but we also know that it’s so important to come here to know the people and to play a good two games against wonderful teams like United and Dortmund”.
