Suicide Squad is about a team of risky incarcerated super villains with a top secret mission.
In response to the negative reviews, Suicide Squad director David Ayer tweeted a quote from historical Mexican revolutionary leader Emiliano Zapata, that roughly translates to “It is better to die at your feet, than to live on your knees”. They also argue that the antihero movie hasn’t even hit theaters yet. DC comic fans disagree with the rating so much that that they’ve started a petition to shut down the critical site. If you find it unhelpful, and choose to ignore it in favor of a particular reviewer, a friend’s recommendations, or even just going and seeing movies without reading any reviews at all, then that’s great too.
Yesterday, our own David Eckstein reported on a ludicrous petition by an angry DC movie fan to have Rotten Tomatoes shut down over the poor critical average for Suicide Squad, which then sat at an bad 33% “Rotten” average. Rotten Tomatoes aggregates reviews from newspapers and websites, so it doesn’t have any control over its reviewers. It does not offer its own critical assessment of movies. For the ones who’re not hardcore fans, the DCEU is the shared cinematic fictional universe centered on Batman and company. Now that the movie is out, it’s time for the fans to weigh in. The first movie in the DCEU was Man of Steel (2013), a reboot of the Superman film series, and is now its best-reviewed but with a Rotten 55%.
Despite the disappointing reviews, as with Batman vs. Superman with even worse reviews, Suicide Squad is still believed to be a movie that will make a huge amount of money.
But if one looks at what happened with the new Ghostbusters film, movie fans aren’t that more trustworthy than critics.
“At the end of the day, it’s the fans that we made this movie for”, the 23-year-old actress added.
In conclusion, it is unlikely that Rotten Tomatoes will be shut down due to negative Suicide Squad reviews.

In an update entitled “Final Announcement”, posted Wednesday, Coldwater wrote “In fact i started this petition to gather dc fans to express our anger just for fun”.
