It’s “not what you’ve seen before with a big dumb giants walking around”, Disney explained, but instead the world is inhabited with various cultures of giants, including the film’s antagonistic element, the Storm Giants.
“We are so honored and thrilled to continue the tradition [of bringing fairy tales to film] with Jack and the Beanstalk“, Greno said.
Disney is already in production on the feature, which has assembled a top-notch team: Nathan Greno (Tangled) is directing, Dorothy McKim (Get a Horse!) is directing, and Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez (Frozen) are providing music. Greno shared that one of the main giants – the co-lead of the film along with Jack – is based on a young girl that the creative team met on a research trip to Spain. It has deep, deep, emotion.
