Disney Junior’s “Lion King” sequel has finally added some star power to its ranks with a string of casting moves sure to delight every Disney fan. For a little background, The Lion Guard will center on Simba and Nalas second-born son, Kion, who becomes the leader of the titular group, known for their protective skills. The movie, as well as TV episodes that are scheduled to follow, will find the Guard learning to solve problems. With the help of his buddies, Bunga (a honeybadger), Ono (an egret), Fuli (a cheetah), and Beshte (a hippo), Kion will do his best to protect and preserve the Pride Lands in the most heroic and humble way possible. “I think people will be sort of amazed at just how handsome it really looks”.

The Education and Science experts at Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park serve as consultants, advising on the characteristics, behaviors and habitats of the African animal species featured and inspiring original stories based on their first hand experiences.

Additional cast members include Eden Riegel as Kiara, Sarah Hyland as Tiifu, Madison Pettis as Zuri, Jeff Bennett as Zazu, Andrew Kishino as Janja, Vargus Mason as Cheezi, Greg Ellis as Mzingo, Khary Payton as Rafiki and Kevin Schon as Chungu and Timon.
