Marvel set July 6, 2018, for Ant-Man & the Wasp, for which the original feature’s stars – Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly – are set to reprise their roles.
Toy Story 4 will now hit wide release June 15, 2018, a year later from its June 2017 slot – which now makes room for Cars 3 to come out that month. “Toy Story 3” stands as the third-highest grossing animated film of all time, behind Universal Pictures’ “Minions” and another Disney smash, “Frozen”. However, with Disney being Disney, not much about the plot of the upcoming movie has been released and as such, fans have been letting their imaginations run wild, concocting their own version of what could be “The Incredibles 2”.
On top of the HIGHLY anticipated sequels, they also announced that the Pixar movie scheduled for November 22, 2017 is going to be Coco, and the Disney Animation movie that’s set to hit theaters March 6, 2018 is very big! The breakdown this year is as follows: $1.433 billion domestically and $2.575 billion internationally.
Circling back to The Incredibles 2, Brad Bird’s long-awaited superpower sequel may still be a ways away yet, but if anything, today’s announcement just shows the sheer volume of projects cramming up the pipeline for the next half decade.
“2015 has been a record-setting year both domestically and internationally thanks to a strong slate of films from all of our brands”, Dave Hollis, Disney’s head of distribution, said in a statement.
Elsewhere, Disney has dated four new “Untitled Disney Fairy Tale (Live-Action)” films, which means live-action reboots of animated movies.
