Disney Polishing Up Live-Action The Sword In The Stone

The adaptation will be produced by Brigham Taylor, the same person that is also working on the live-action “The Jungle Book” adaptation. However, they have taken another childhood treasure out to give it a new coat of paint.

Game Of Thrones scribe Bryan Cogman has been tapped to write a script for a live-action version of Disney’s animated feature Sword In The Stone. Presumably, he’ll bring his skill of telling tales about swords and castles with less bloodbath-y elements. White’s novel of the same name and later became part of White’s multi-book landmark Arthurian fantasy The Once & Future King.

This is only in development at the moment, and who knows, maybe it won’t get anywhere.

The film originally released back in 1963 and was one of the more popular animated films of its time.

Cogman cut his teeth as one of the writers on HBO’s hit fantasy drama “Game of Thrones“, though audiences can expect this project to be on the lighter side.

Bryan himself then posted a picture of himself trying to pull a sword from the stone at Disneyland on Twitter with the caption “Research”. The animated flick was loosely based on T.H. The Hollywood Reporter stated that it is being written by Damian Shannon and Mark Swift and will follow how Aladdin’s Genie ended up enslaved in the lamp. He’s also developing a “Magic: The Gathering” for Fox and “The False Prince” for Paramount.
