Disney’s Bob Iger Looking to Move San Diego Chargers and Oakland Raiders
“L.A. football fans will enjoy unprecedented access to games during the season, in a state-of-the-art stadium created to deliver the most entertaining, exciting and enjoyable experience possible”.

Under the terms of his five-year contract, Iger would continue to serve as chairman and CEO of the Walt Disney Company. Bob Iger, who will make only $1 per year in his role, will reportedly make decisions on all Carson-related stadium matters. He said three-fourths of the owners of the NFL’s 32 teams must approve any team moves.
The Chargers have already said they will apply to move Los Angeles County when the league’s relocation window opens January 1.
Members of the Los Angeles, stadium and finance committees heard presentations from St. Louis, San Diego and Oakland.
The NFL held committee meetings at league headquarters Wednesday and at least one owner questioned the impact of the hiring. “He’s trying to get this project in Carson, so he’s hired Carmen Policy, one of the best executives in the National Football League and now he comes with the Disney money behind this project”, Dobbins said. Among the properties they own are Marvel, Pixar, ABC Network, and ESPN – the latter two have long time relationships with the NFL.
The Oakland Raiders are under consideration for a move to Carson, Calif.
As CBS Sports NFL Insider Jason La Canfora reported, the two teams have added Disney chairman and CEO Bob Iger as chairman of their bid to build the stadium in Carson. That lines up well with when the Carson stadium project would be finishing up, if it gets built at all.
A single market can’t have three football teams, and Iger gives the Chargers and Raiders a huge leg up. But Grubman and several owners have indicated no timetable is set in stone and that a vote on relocation could come in February or March or beyond.
Iger’s first order of business will be to hire a full-time manager for the stadium project and then work on maximizing stadium revenues and additional development opportunities. St. Louis Rams owner Stan Kroenke is pushing a rival project in nearby Inglewood.
Raiders fans took over San Diego in October.

The San Diego mayor, Kevin Faulconer, is scheduled to present at the NY meeting to convince team owners that the Chargers should stay in San Diego.
